If a course has more than one section, it is to accommodate more students. Each section represents the same course. Do not register for more than one section of a course.

“Remote school'' means any public school, as defined in section 302A-101, excluding a charter school governed by chapter 302D, that is a high school:
(1) Located at least a one-hour drive away from the next nearest public high school; or
(2) Located on the island of Lanai, Molokai, or Niihau; provided that if a high school is combined with an elementary, middle, intermediate, or other lower level of schooling, that the entire school shall be deemed a high school for the purposes of this subsection.


2021-2022 Regular Registration

ROUND ONE: April 15 at 8:30 a.m. - May 13 at 2:30 p.m.

ROUND TWO: August 3 at 8:30 a.m. - August 6 at 2:30 p.m.

2021 Summer Registration

April 1 at 8:30 a.m. - April 22 at 2:30 p.m.  

April 28 at 2:30 p.m.  (EXTENDED!)


  • Parents/Guardians must register their child for summer school.

  • To view class listing, select Term (E-School Summer 2021) and then Apply Filter

  • Due to the rigor and acceleration, students may only take up to 1 credit during the summer. This would mean either two, 0.5 credit courses or one, 1 credit course.

  • Open to Hawai'i resident HIGH SCHOOL students including incoming 9th graders (currently 8th grade) for the upcoming school year. E-School summer does not offer courses for middle school students.

  • REQUIRED: Meet with your primary school counselor prior to enrolling with E-School. Your school can advise you on the appropriate course to take for your GRADE LEVEL.

4/19/2021 UPDATE: On April 15, 2021, the Hawaii State Board of Education (Board) held a special meeting and approved the Department of Education’s authorization to expend the federal Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief (ESSER) II funds to cover summer programming, including the Official Summer School tuition fees for participating students. 

2021 E-School summer is free.
